'Ein- oder Zwei-Staaten-Lösung?' - Vortrag mit Ludwig Watzal

"Die Ein-Staaten-Lösung für Israel/Palästina werde kommen, aber nicht wie sich deren Befürworter sie sich in Form eines bi-nationalen Staates wünschen, sondern nur in einem erweiterten Staat Israel", so eine von zahlreichen provokanten Thesen des Nahostexperten Dr. Ludwig Watzal, der am Sonntag, 7. Dezember, im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe von "Cafe Palästina" in Bonn, die vom "Institut für Palästinakunde" organisiert wird, vertreten hat. Gleichwohl betonte der Referent, dass er hoffe, die Palästinenser würden ihr Recht auf Selbstbestimmung in einem eigenen Staat, der diesen Namen auch verdient, zuerst realisieren, bevor über weitere Integrationsformen spekuliert werden könne.

The German Left’s Palestine Problem

Die Linke’s position on Palestine has isolated it from the global solidarity movement and strengthened the party’s worst elements.

If the German left is to break the hegemony of Merkelism, it must actively challenge Germany’s alliance with Israel, for it currently serves as the spearhead of a wider Islamophobic discourse that weakens resistance to neoliberalism at home by dividing opposition along cultural lines. This is done by intentionally conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism, which in turn places the damaging stigma of the latter on those more likely to express solidarity with the besieged of Gaza.

Die entsetzliche Petra Pau

In dem folgenden offenen Brief an die Bundestagsabgeordneten Petra Pau, wundert sich der Palästina-Aktivist Ekkehart Drost über deren Unwissenheit. Pau's Positionierung in Sachen Palästina ist jedoch keine Folge von Ignoranz, sondern von Rassismus, Opportunismus und Korruption.

Sehr geehrte Frau Pau,

Mit Enttäuschung, eher: mit Entsetzen musste ich Ihren Brief an die Leitung der Volksbühne, der zur Absage der Veranstaltung mit den beiden jüdischen Referenten geführt hat, zur Kenntnis nehmen. Schon die Tatsache, dass Sie gemeinsam mit zwei Kollegen diesen Brief geschrieben haben, die wegen ihrer nahezu vorbehaltlosen, unkritischen Unterstützung der israelischen Politik in der Vergangenheit in Erscheinung getreten sind, ist schwer verständlich.

Europäer verlieren Geduld mit Israel
Perspektivisch Sanktionen möglich

Am heutigen Tag hat das französische Parlament die eigene Regierung aufgefordert Palästina als Staat anzuerkennen.

Ähnliche Resolutionen haben die Parlamente/Senate weiterer vier europäischer Staaten - von Spanien, England, Irland und Schweden - in den letzten Wochen verabschiedet.

Auch wenn diese Resolutionen keine unmittelbare Wirkung haben, so sind sie doch ein Zeichen für die Frustration der Europäer mit Israel, nachdem die jahrzehntelange Appeasement-Politik Europas zu keinen greifbaren Ergebnissen geführt hat.

Über kurz oder lang werden diese Entscheidungen zu Sanktionen gegen Israel führen, das nichts auslässt um seine 'Freunde' in Europa zu düpieren.

'Linke' und 'GRÜNEN' Israel-Lobbyisten gegen Max Blumenthal

'Linke' und 'GRÜNE' Israel-Lobbyisten versuchen im Verein mit der DIG und dem bekannten Israel-Lobbyisten Benjamin Weinthal Veranstaltungen mit Max Blumenthal in Berlin zu verhindern.
Blumenthal trat unter anderem vor dem Russell Tribunal auf, wo er über die von Israel in Gaza begangenen Kriegsverbrechen berichtete.

Weinthal behauptet in der Berliner Morgenpost, dass der prominenteste Garant des israelischen Staatsinteresses in der Links-Partei, Gregor Gysi, angeordnet habe eine Veranstaltung von Abgeordneten der Linken mit Blumenthal zu stoppen.
Derweil schwingen Israel-Beschützer wie Petra Pau (LINKE) und Volker Beck (GRÜNE) die Ausgeglichenheits/Antisemitismus-Keule gegen die Volksbühne, wo ebenfalls ein Auftritt Blumenthals ansteht.

The spark which had set off East Jerusalem was the kidnapping, murder and burning of the boy Mohammed Abu Khdeir, blood feud for the kidnapping and killing of three Israeli yeshiva students. Since then the conflagration had been going on, also in the weeks when all attention was focused on the bombing of Gaza. Every week, almost every day, still more fuel is added to the combustion. Israeli Nationalist-Messianic settlers penetrate deep into the Palestinian neighborhoods, take over houses on the basis of questionable purchase contracts, and effectively turn them into fortified compounds. Larger Jewish neighborhoods, established by the government on expropriated Palestinian land in East Jerusalem, are expanding through major projects involving thousands of housing units – with ordinary Israeli Jerusalemites, seeking a place to live, becoming unwittingly the pawns in a game of “expanding the Jewish presence” and driving wedges between Palestinian neighborhoods. …

Israel moves to outlaw Palestinian political parties in the Knesset

The Israeli parliament voted overwhelmingly last week to suspend Haneen Zoabi, a legislator representing the state’s large Palestinian minority, for six months as a campaign to silence political dissent intensified.

The Israeli parliament, or Knesset, voted by 68 to 16 to endorse a decision in late July by its ethics committee to bar Zoabi from the chamber for what it termed “incitement.”

One aspect – rarely researched or deeply discussed – is the internment of thousands of Palestinian civilians within at least 22 Zionist-run concentration and labor camps that existed from 1948 to 1955. Now more is known about the contours of this historical crime, due to the comprehensive research by renowned Palestinian historian Salman Abu Sitta and founding member of the Palestinian resource center BADIL Terry Rempel.

Israel’s Occupation is More Complex Than a Genocide

Last month … the Russell Tribunal … into Israel’s recent attack on Gaza concluded that Israel was guilty of “incitement to genocide”. The panel argued that Israel’s long-term collective punishment of Palestinians was designed to “inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about the incremental destruction of the Palestinians as a group”.

… the UN convention’s drafters understood that genocide did not require death camps; it could also be achieved gradually through intentional and systematic abuse and neglect. Their definition raises troubling questions about Israel’s treatment of Gaza, aside from military attacks. Does, for example, forcing the enclave’s two million inhabitants to depend on acquifers polluted with seawater constitute genocide?

Prof. William Robertson liefert hier eine umfasssende Analyse der Zusammenhänge zwischen der Transformation der israelischen Ökonomie seit den achtziger Jahren - den Konsequenzen des Zusammenbruchs der UDSSR, der Globalisierung und des grenzenlosen Antiterrorkriegs - sowie dem ebenso ruinösen wie korrupten Friedensprozess.

The Jordan Valley needs your help. The Jordan Valley Solidarity (JVS) Campaign, a network of Palestinian grassroots community groups from all over the Jordan Valley, established in 2003, is making an appeal to international volunteers to go and help the communities in Area C.

What JVS is looking for is someone who can spend a period in the village of Fasayel where the campaign prepares mud bricks to build houses, schools and structures that the Israeli bulldozers demolished in all the Jordan Valley. Anyone can join and choose how long he/she can stay with them – few days, few weeks, few months. Until now, the campaign managed to build 5 schools, clinics and hundreds of houses for the communities in Area C (more than the 93% of the entire size of the Valley). …

Während das 'heisse' Pogrom in Gaza ('Protective Edge') abkühlte, bei dem der 'jüdische Staat' mit Billigung der UN, der USA, der EU und der deutschen Regierung in Gaza binnen 55 Tagen 2137 Palästinenser zur Strecke brachte - darunter 578 Kinder, 264 Frauen und 103 betagte Menschen, setzte dieser Staat die für ihn ganz normale, 'kalte' Pogrom-Tätigkeit in der Westbank unvermindert fort.

Diese kleine Aufstellung bei Global Research mit 26 Einzelpunkten zu israelischen Attacken seit dem Ende von 'Protective Edge' - ein Potpourri aus Entführungen, Folter, Vertreibungen, Morden, Raub und Diebstahl - zeigt, dass es für die Palästinenser völlig sinnlos ist mit Israel verhandeln zu wollen.

Israeli forces use Palestinian child as human shield in Gaza

Dass Palästinenser ihre Kinder als 'menschliche Schutzschilde' einsetzten ist eine ebenso absurde wie menschenverachtende Erfindung der israelischen Kriegsvebrecher-Propaganda.

Absurd, weil palästinensische Kinder als Schutzschild offenbar untauglich sind, da israelische Kriegsverbrecher bekanntlich nicht davor zurückschrecken palästinensische Kinder zu ermorden - was sie in Gaza hundertfach getan haben.
Menschenverachtend und antisemitisch ist diese Erfindung, weil die Unterstellung, dass Palästinenser ihre eigenen (!) Kinder opferten offensichtlich dazu dient sie zu entmenschlichen, ganz analog zu der mittelalterlichen Mär vom jüdischen Ritualmord an christlichen Kindern.

… And the people who lived in Sederot in early 1948 were not Israelis, but Palestinian Arabs. Their village was called Huj. Nor were they enemies of Israel. Two years earlier, these same Arabs had actually hidden Jewish Haganah fighters from the British Army. But when the Israeli army turned up at Huj on 31 May 1948, they expelled all the Arab villagers – to the Gaza Strip! Refugees, they became. …

And today, well over 6,000 descendants of the Palestinians from Huj – now Sederot – live in the squalor of Gaza, among the “terrorists” Israel is claiming to destroy and who are shooting at what was Huj.

Pogrome standen schliesslich bereits an der Wiege des 'jüdischen Staates'. Pogrome wie das in Deir Yassin, die erforderlich waren, um sich der 'animals' zu entledigen, den Palästinensern, die sich weigerten ihre Heimat und ihren Besitz aufzugeben, um zu mittellosen Flüchtlingen zu werden.

'Whole families smashed under the rubble'

At least 59 Palestinian families suffered multiple casualties over four weeks of Israeli bombardment in Gaza, according to data collated by the Guardian. The youngest casualty was 10-day old Hala Abu Madi, who died on 2 August; the oldest was Abdel al-Masri, aged 97, who was killed on 3 August.

Among families in which four or more people died, 479 people were killed in total, including 212 children under the age of 18, and 15 people aged 60 and over. The Guardian has interviewed six families who suffered multiple casualties. …

Legenden des Gazakonfliktes

Zwei Legenden prägen die Berichterstattung und Kommentierung dieses neuesten Krieges gegen Gaza: Israel handele in Ausübung seines Selbstverteidigungsrechts und die Situation sei zwischen Israelis und Palästinensern so verfahren und aussichtslos, dass niemand eine Lösung dieser mörderischen Verklammerung wisse. Beide Legenden sind alt und beherrschen schon seit Jahrzehnten die Druckspalten und Sender der Medien. Beide sind grundfalsch, haben sich aber durch ihre permanente Wiederholung tief in das allgemeine Bewusstsein der Öffentlichkeit eingraviert.

Ein Anruf aus der Hölle

Seitdem sich Arafat und Rabin 1993 im Weißen Haus die Hände reichten sind zwanzig Jahren vergangen. Es gab Hoffnung für zwei Staaten, die nebeneinander in Frieden leben würden. Zwei Jahre später wurde Rabin von einem jüdischen Extremisten ermordet, seitdem ist man keinen Schritt weiter gekommen.

Als Scharon Premier-Minister wurde, verschlimmert sich die Lage, alle Hoffnungen wurden zunichte gemacht. In Ramallah wurde Arafats Regierungssitz erst belagert, dann bombardiert. Die Belagerung wurde erst eingestellt, nachdem Arafat vergiftet und nach Paris ausgeflogen wurde.

My father’s brother, Ismail al-Ghoul, 60, was not a member of Hamas. His wife, Khadra, 62, was not a militant of Hamas. Their sons, Wael, 35, and Mohammed, 32, were not combatants for Hamas. Their daughters, Hanadi, 28, and Asmaa, 22, were not operatives for Hamas, nor were my cousin Wael’s children, Ismail, 11, Malak, 5, and baby Mustafa, only 24 days old, members of Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine or Fatah. Yet, they all died in the Israeli shelling that targeted their home at 6:20 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Genozid in Gaza 2014

Im Sommer 2014 findet in Gaza, in einem von Israel errichteten und belagerten Palästinenser-Ghetto, ein genozidales Pogrom der israelischen Armee statt. Ein Massaker an der palästinensischen Zivilbevölkerung mit über tausend Toten und 6000 Verletzten, einhergehend mit der Verwüstung ganzer Wohnviertel.

Ein Pogrom eines uniformierten fanatisierten Mobs, der Bomben auf Wohnhäuser wirft, mit Raketen in Appartements schiesst und am Strand spielende Kinder mit Granaten in Stücke schiesst. Ein Pogrom, dass die Palästinenser gefügig machen soll; sie dazu zwingen soll, sich mit einem Leben als rechtlose Gefangene Israels abzufinden, unter der Herrschaft irgendeines palästinensischen Quislings.

Genozid in Gaza: "Tod den Arabern!" (1948-2014)

Von dem Massaker jüdischer Terrorgruppen in Deir-Yassin im Jahr 1948 führt eine gerade Linie hin zu dem gegenwärtigen Massaker in Gaza. Identisch ist sowohl der jüdisch-narionalistische Furor, die barbarische Gewalt sowie auch das Ziel: „Tod den Arabern!“. Auch der israelische Ministerpräsident, ein gelehriger Schüler Zeev Jabotinskys, steht in direkter Linie mit den Anführern der Terroristen, wurde doch einer der Anführer, Menachem Begin, 1977 Israels Ministerpräsident, um 1982 mit Ariel Scharon im Libanon erneut Massaker zu begehen.

Der Unterschied zwischen 1948 und 2014 besteht darin, dass der israelische Staat seine Massaker damals noch zu vertuschen versuchte und das prominente liberale Juden – wie Albert Einstrein oder Hannah Arendt – dagegen protestierten. Gegen die Massaker im Libanon 1982 gingen sogar hunderttausende von Israelis auf die Straße.

n'ter Tag des Pogroms in Israel

Es macht keinen Sinn, die Pogrom-Tage in Israel zu numerieren, denn Pogrome verübt die 'einzige Demokratie des Nahen Ostens'™ an mehr oder weniger jedem Arbeitstag.

Während Netanjahus Armee mittlerweile 270 Palästinenser in Gaza ermordet hat und die hiesigen Medien genervte Israelis in einem Einkaufszentren zeigten, um zu zeigen wie sehr diese durch den nutzlosen 'Raketenhagel' der HAMAS traumatisiert worden seien, währenddessen trainierte die israelische Polizei für etwas weniger mörderischen Pogrome an den Palästinensern Ost-Jerusalems.

Protestieren Sie jetzt gegen das Massaker in Gaza!

Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde,
sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

wie Sie vermutlich wissen, ist Gaza seit zehn Tagen zum vierten Mal Ziel einer barbarischen Strafexpedition Israels geworden, die bisher über 200 Palästinenser, überwiegend Zivilisten - darunter viele Frauen und Kinder - das Leben gekostet hat.
Zur Erinnerung: Bereits im Jahr 2006 tötete die israelische Armee während der "Operation" 'Summer Rains' 420 Palästinenser in Gaza. 2008/9 wurden 1417 Palästininer während 'Cast Lead' getötet, 165 Palästinenser fielen 'Pillar of Cloud' im Jahr 2012 zum Opfer. 'Protective Edge' kostete bislang über 200 Palästinenser das Leben.

taz: Nahostkorrespondentin leistet Beihilfe für Massenmörder

Die Nahost-Korresponentin Susanne Knaul, die ekelhaftestete und schamloseste Rassistin, die der deutsche Blätterwald zu bieten hat, schreibt in einem Kommentar der taz:

„Israel muss die Hamas angreifen, auch wenn abzusehen ist, dass zivile Opfer, hinter deren Rücken sich die feigen Hamaskämpfer verstecken, nicht zu verhindern sind.”

Angesichts solcher Szenen, die man so nur aus 70 Jahre alten Schwarzweiss-Filmen kannte, wünscht man sich jemanden der dafür sorgt, dass Susanne Knaul wegen der Unterstützung von Massenmördern vor Gericht gestellt wird.

Ist die Aufstachelung zum Rassenhass in Deutschland nicht strafbar? Und wurde Julius Streicher nicht in Nürnberg gehängt, obgleich er keinen einzigen Menschen eigenhändig ermordete?

Gaza: Bodenoffensive verzögert, Luftkrieg gegen Zivilisten fortgesetzt

Die angekündigte Bodenoffensive ist bisher ausgeblieben, die israelischen Ankündigungen zufolge zu einer grossflächigen Verwüstung des Nordens des Gazastreifens führen soll.

Indessen begeht die israelische Armee mit der gezielten Bomdardierung von Wohnhäusern weiter Kriegsverbrechen auf Kriegsverbrechen - denen die Medien genauso wie die internationale Politik achselzuckend zusehen.
Immerhin sind die Verbrechen derart offensichtlich, dass man sich eine Wiederholung der Goldstone-Farce diesmal ersparen kann.

Israelischer Angriff im Norden Gazas erwartet

Mehrere Anzeichen deuten darauf hin, dass die israelische Armee beabsichtigt in den Norden Gazas einzudringen, was todsicher zu einem dramatischen Anstieg getöteter Palästinenser führen wird.

Ebenso beunruhigend ist, dass die USA ihre Bürger auffordert den Gazastreifen zu verlassen. Welchen Einfluss das auf die Berichterstattung haben wird ist zur Zeit nicht zu ermessen.
Deutsche Medien waren bisher immerhin so frei die israelischen Kriegsverbrechen zu zeigen, wenngleich die dazu vorgetragenen 'Analysen' natürlich der israelischen Propaganda folgten.

als 1903 der junge Michail Rybatschenko bei Kischinew (heute Moldawien, damals Zarenreich) ermordet aufgefunden wurde, stellten dort die "guten Christenmenschen“ die Juden als blutrünstige Monster dar. „Tod den Juden“ wurde geschrieben, gepredigt, gebrüllt und tatkräftig umgesetzt. Das war das erste Kischinewer Pogrom. Das Zaren-Regime schaute gerne zu.

Unter anderem indem sie alle Angaben der Palästinenser unter den Vorbehalt von hätte, sei, sollte oder mutmasslich stellen.

Bundesweite Demonstrationen gegen den Überfall auf Gaza

Während bundesweit bereits Demonstrationen mit bis zu 1000 Teilnehmern stattgefunden haben, fehlt bislang eine bundeweite Koordination oder auch nur eine zentrale Informationsseite.

Dazu kommt, dass die Presse auch nicht in allen Fällen gewillt ist, die Demonstrationen zur Kenntnis zu nehmen - etwa die in Bonn vom vergangenen Freitag, mit mindestens 400 Teilnehmern.

Demonstrationen mit bis zu 1000 Teilnehmern wurden gemeldet aus Dortmund, München und Fankfurt. In den meisten Fällen überstieg die Anzahl der Teilnehmer die Erwartungen deutlich. In Bonn waren die Veranstalter etwa nur von circa 50 Teilnehmern ausgegangen.

4. Tag der Gaza-Strafexpedition: Bombardierungen von Wohnhäusern und andere Kriegsverbrechen töten über 100 Palästinenser

Laut OCHA kosteten israelische Angriffe mit mehreren hundert Tonnen Bomben, bis Freitag, 15:00 Uhr, rund 114 Palästinensern das Leben, 680 wurden verletzt, mehrheitlich Zivilisten.
Auf israelischer Seite wurden bislang 3 Personen durch den Einschlag einer palästinensischen Rakete verletzt.

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt der israelischen Kriegsverbrechen bestand in der gezielten Bombardierung von Wohnhäusern von Mitgliedern des bewaffneten palästinensischen Widerstands.

24. Tag des Pogroms

Das wohldurchdachte Pogrom geht nun in Gaza weiter - obwohl es sich in Gaza genau genommen um eine 'koloniale Strafaktion' handelt, die jedoch typischerweise noch viel blutiger sein wird.

Wohldurchdacht, weil man wohl schon früh vom Tod der drei Religionsschüler wusste, das aber verheimlichte, um das gesunde israelische 'Volksempfinden' besser anheizen zu können. Der daraus resultierende Lynchmord an Mohamed Hussein Abu Khdeir (15) hat die Inszenierung zwar etwas zum stocken, aber nicht zum Stillstand gebracht.

Noch einen Tag akausaler Betroffenheitsjournalismus a la R.C. Schneider aus Ashkelon und kein Mensch wird mehr über den Toten reden, sondern über beschädigte israelische Hausdächer, Autos oder Fabrikhallen und die ein oder zwei unglücklichen Israelis, die vielleicht tatsächlich das Pech haben von einer der do-it-yourself-Raketen aus Gaza getroffen zu werden.

Deutsche Medien als willige Helfer israelischer Kriegsverbrecher (I)

Das nun bereits angelaufene israelische Massaker an den Palästinensern Gazas bietet deutschen Agenturen und Medien erneut die Möglichkeit sich als willfährige Propagandisten der in Israel regierenden Kriegsverbrecher zu bewähren. Ihre Aufgabe besteht darin, die mörderische Realität derart zu entstellen und zu verzerren, dass die israelischen Kriegsverbrecher als Opfer der von ihnen massakrierten Palästinenser erscheinen.

Keine unlösbare Aufgabe für die große Mehrheit der deutschen Berichterstatter, die professionelle journalistische Standards und ihr Berufsethos schon lange über Bord geworfen haben, und die darin geübt sind sich sklavisch an das 1x1 der 'Israel-Berichterstattung' zu halten.

21. Tag des Pogroms

Seit dem vorgestrigen Lynchmord an Mohamed Hussein Abu Khdeir (16) in Jerusalem wäre es falsch nur von einem Pogrom in der Westbank zu sprechen.

Ein Umstand der an die Tatsache erinnert, dass nicht nur die Westbank, sondern dass auch Ost-Jerusalem - angeblich Teil der 'unteilbaren Haupstadt des jüdischen Volkes' - besetztes Gebiet ist.

Im Fall des Ermordeten tun die Behörden des Pogrom-Staates, was von ihnen zu erwarten ist. Sie verbreiten Lügen über das Opfer und seine Angehörigen, sie erpressen die Angehörigen mit der Leiche und verprügeln Anverwandte und Freunde des Toten.

20. Tag des Pogroms in der Westbank

Vorgestern fiel dem Pogrom ein sechzehnjähriger Palästinenser, Mohamed Hussein Abu Khdeir, zum Opfer.

Die unbekannten Täter, die den Jungen in Shuafat entführten, niederschossen und womöglich folterten, werden in den 'westlichen' Medien natürlich nicht als 'radikale Juden' bezeichet. Es besteht keine Gefahr, dass der UNO-Sicherheitsrat das Verbrechen verdammen wird, oder dass ein westlicher Staatsmann der Familie sein Beileid aussprechen wird.

Der israelische Staat wird auch keine 'Waffenlager' in den Wohnvierteln dieser 'radikalen Juden' bombardieren lassen oder ihre Häuser in die Luft sprengen.

18. Tag des Pogroms in der Westbank

Am 18. Tag des als 'Militäroperation' verniedlichten Pogroms in der Westbank, sind die drei entführten Jugendlichen wie zu erwarten tot aufgefunden worden.

Die Zeit zwischen der Entführung und dem Fund hat die israelische Regierung genutzt, um sieben unbeteiligte Palästinenser zu ermorden - darunter zwei Jugendliche - 500 Palästinenser einzusperren und über 1000 Wohnungen und Geschäftsräume von Palästinensern zu verwüsten.

Gewaltexzess in Bonner Mediamarkt: Mitarbeiter attackieren BDS-'Flashmob'

Am vergangenen Samstag fand im Bonner Mediamarkt ein Flashmob mit circa dreissig Palästina-Aktivisten aus Bonn (BDS-Gruppe Bonn, IPK e.V., Pal. Gemeinde Bonn), Köln (arbeiterfotografie) und Marburg (Handala e.V.) statt.

Die Aktivisten hielten Protest-Plakate hoch und riefen Parolen um gegen den Verkauf von Trinkwasssersprudlern der Marke sodastream aus der illegalen jüdischen Siedlung Ma'ale Adumim zu protestieren.

Unmittelbar nachdem der Geschäftsführer erschien (dem die Protestierer dieses Schreiben überreichten) und die Teilnehmer des Hauses verwies, stürzten sich mehrere seiner Mitarbeiter auf die beiden Fotografen der Gruppe und versuchten ihnen gewaltsam die Kameras zu entreissen.

Israeli bulldozers raze Bedouin community

The village of al-Araqib, a Bedouin community in the Naqab (Negev) desert in the south of present-day Israel, was razed to the ground by state authorities for the sixty-ninth time since July 2010 last week. This demolition marked the first time police destroyed homes erected within the cemetery area of the village.

At 9:30am on Thursday, 12 June, approximately 350 police officers and special forces encircled the village and rounded up inhabitants in the makeshift mosque. Homes were bulldozed to the ground in about three hours and the rubble cleared away by 4:30pm. …

Israel: Ruling by 'shock and awe'

Die scheinbar ebenso wahllosen wie regelmässigen Liquidationen von palästinensischen Zivilisten - seien es Alte, Frauen oder Kinder - durch Schergen des israelischen Staates sind keineswegs 'Unfälle'.
Es handelt sich dabei vielmehr um einen Teil einer Terror-Strategie, die darauf abzielt die Palästinenser in einem permanten Schockzustand zu halten, um sie zu lähmen und zu verwirren.

Israel: Killing Ali al-Awour (10) with impunity

(dci) After three days in the intensive care unit, Ali al-Awour, 10, died at 3:30 pm on Saturday, of wounds he sustained from an Israeli airstrike.

He was riding on the back of his uncle’s motorcycle when they, and two bystanders, were struck by an Israeli missile last Wednesday in northern Gaza. Ali, who had recently finished the fifth grade, enjoyed playing soccer and helping out in his family’s restaurant. He is survived by his three siblings.

According to documentation by DCI-Palestine, he is the fifth Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces since January.

NCF - URGENT UPDATE: the destruction of the cemetery compound: Al-Arakib JUNE 12-13 2014

At about 10:00 Thursday morning (June 12th), local time, a large contingent of police cordoned off the village, confining residents and activists in the cemetery’s mosque (which was not demolished),while tractors and bulldozers did their devastating work and demolished the houses of the residents in the cemetery compound. With the exception of the graves themselves, the whole compound was demolished, and a caravan used as a learning center and containers were taken away. The forces empty the village’s water tanks, that were later taken too. The rubbles were taken away by lorries, so the site is now empty.

amnesty international: 'urgent action' für Murad Shtaiwi aus Kufr Qaddum

Der palästinensische Menschenrechtsverteidiger Murad Shtewi befindet sich wegen seines Mitwirkens an wöchentlichen friedlichen Demonstrationen in seinem Dorf seit dem 29. April bei israelischen Truppen in Haft. Er ist ein gewaltloser politischer Gefangener. Am 22. Mai lehnte ein Gericht einen Antrag auf seine Freilassung ab.

Hintergrund

Kufr Qadum ist ein Dorf mit rund 3.500 Einwohner_innen, das westlich der Stadt Nablus im besetzten Westjordanland liegt. Die israelischen Behörden haben sich durch Enteignung eines Großteils des Landes, auf dem das Dorf liegt, bemächtigt, um den illegalen Siedlungsblock Kedumim zu errichten und zu versorgen.

Jiftlik / Jordan Valley: 13 family homes destroyed in Abu Al Ajaj refugee camp

On 21'st May 2014, the houses and animal barracks of 13 families (including 71 people) were demolished in Abu Al Ajaj refugee camp which is located in Al Jiftlik, in the middle of the Jordan Valley. Under the Oslo accords this land was designated as Area, in an interim agreement that gave Israel complete control over 60% of the West Bank*.

On 20th May the Israeli Economy Minister, Naftali Bennett, issued a call for the occupation forces to unilaterally annex all Area C land to the Israeli state. …

Israeli forces shoot and kill two Palestinian teens near Ramallah

Israeli forces killed two Palestinian teens during clashes on Thursday outside the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

Nadeem Siam Nawara, 17, and Mohammad Mahmoud Odeh Abu Daher, 16, were both fatally shot in the chest with live ammunition near Ofer military prison in the West Bank city of Beitunia.

The boys were participating in a demonstration near Ofer military prison to mark Nakba Day and express solidarity with hunger striking prisoners currently held in administrative detention by Israel. The demonstration reportedly began peacefully and then turned violent when Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian youths …

On 8 May 2014 human rights defender and lawyer Ms Shireen Essawi began a hunger strike after learning of the postponement of her trial for nine months and a day. She is charged with cooperating with actors who are working against the state of Israel.

Shireen Essawi is a human rights lawyer who has participated in monitoring and documenting human rights violations committed against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, especially children, women, and prisoners from the Gaza Strip. The human rights defender also reported on practices adopted by Israeli authorities for Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israeli jails that she believes violate human rights, such as preventing visits by lawyers. …

Gaza Ark: "Our response to terrorist attack: we will sail in the Fall!"

London, May 12, 2014

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition met in London over the last two days to discuss future plans in the wake of the terrorist attack on Gaza's Ark in the port of Gaza, as well as future plans to struggle against the blockade of Gaza.

The attack, which occurred on April 29th, caused substantial damage to the hull of the boat. These hull damages and others caused by the explosion need a minimum of 2 months work to repair at a cost of approximately US $30,000. In response to this attack we will increase our efforts to challenge the blockade through non-violent direct action. We now plan to sail Gaza's Ark early in the fall of 2014. …

The Jewish National Fund for the West Bank Settlers

(tarabut-hithabrut) The journalist Raviv Drucker published an internal document from the financial department of the Jewish National Fund … . The document details how much the JNF spends on "development initiatives" for settlers in the occupied West Bank.

So, what’s on the list? For example, the document mentions the JNF building a "promenade" in the Har Gilo settlement in Gush Etzion costing 2.5 million ILS, but only "on condition that the promenade be called "The JNF Promenade." There is a "scenic viewpoint and park" built by the JNF in the Mitzpe Yericho settlement near Jericho, costing 600,000 ILS. There is even a "historical heritage site" built in the Rosh Tzurim settlement, one of the settlements surrounding Bethlehem, for 400,000 ILS. And of course, the settlers of Hebron make an appearance as well. Lots of infrastructure, agricultural paths and even a bit of neighborhood renewal. …

Die Verschiebung sei dem Umstand geschuldet, dass die anstelle von 'Five broken cameras' gezeigte Reportage EdelMarken zum Hungerlohn über die unmenschlichen Arbeitsbedingungen von Textil-Arbeiterinnen und Arbeitern in Indien und Bangladesh zuvor durch Berichte über die Lage in der Ukraine von ihrem Sendeplatz verdrängt worden sei.

Mai wollte der WDR im Rahmen der Serie die story eine auf fünfundvierzig Minuten verkürzte Version von 'Five broken cameras' zeigen, der dokumentar-filmischen Geschichte des Widerstands der Bewohner Bilins gegen ihre Beraubung und Vertreibung zugunsten jüdischer Siedler unter dem Deckmantel der Sicherheit.

Der Film des Palästinensers Emad Burnat und des Israelis Guy Davidi, der 2013 sogar für einen OSCAR für den besten Dokumentarfilm nominiert wurde, beseitigt jeden Zweifel an dem kriminellen Kern der Besatzer und ihres 'Sicherheitszauns'.

Gaza’s Ark Attacked

At 3:45 AM Gaza time on April 29th, the night guard on board Gaza's Ark received a call to leave the boat because it was going to be attacked.

The guard left, but when nothing happened, he returned after 5 minutes. A few minutes later, a large explosion rocked the boat causing extensive damage.

The boat sank part way and is now sitting on the shallow sea floor. The guard was not injured but was taken to hospital for tests. …

Mahmoud Abbas and the most heinous crime

There is something unpleasant about the sudden declaration by Mahmoud Abbas that the Holocaust was “the most heinous” crime against humanity in modern times. The announcement was suspicious not only in timing but also in its wording. Anyone who has watched Abbas speak English knows full well that “heinous” is not part of his very small vocabulary. Of course, Arab acknowledgement of the Holocaust and the understanding of Jewish suffering in the West throughout history (in which Arabs had no hand), can’t be unwelcomed. Knowledge of history and its facts is a humane obligation but the Palestinians should not be exclusively requested to recite facts of Jewish suffering when they were not the ones who afflicted suffering and atrocities on the Jewish people. If anything, the Palestinian problem can’t be solved through knowledge of history by either side but by changing of the actual political realities in the land of Palestine. …

Again the same unconscionable sights: heaps of debris, bare metal pegs lunging out of the earth, crushed fences, destroyed animal pens and squashed tin huts; remnants of personal property strewn all over; sheep wandering about looking in vain for shade; chickens pecking about; despondent shepherds; wretched sheep dogs; runny-nosed children curled up in Grandmother’s lap and merciless sun beating down. …

OCHA: Area C Vulnerability Profile

The Vulnerability Profile Project (VPP), launched in 2013, is an inter-agency exercise designed to identify vulnerabilities in Area C. This feature provides previously unavailable data on Area C of the West Bank, including the most comprehensive information on physical protection, access to land and livelihoods, water and sanitation, education and health.

According to the VPP, an estimated 297,900 people live in 532 residential areas in Area C, comprising some of the most vulnerable communities in the West Bank in terms of humanitarian needs.

It is the first in a series of products featuring data and analysis that will be available to the public.

Jawhar and Adam were on their way home from a training session in the Faisal al-Husseini Stadium on January 31 when Israeli forces fired upon them … Ten bullets were put into Jawhar’s feet. Adam took one bullet in each foot. After being transferred from a hospital in Ramallah to King Hussein Medical Center in Amman, they received the news that soccer would no longer be a part of their futures.

Today, in the morning, two palestinians and three brazilian internationals were carrying repairs to the JVS Centre, in Fasayil. The house is more than eighty years and is the oldest house in the village.

At eleven o'clock in the morning four israeli soldiers arrived in JVS Centre. They have not been given permission to enter in the centre, but they still went into the house, made checks on the organization, asked a lot of questions to the internationals and the Palestinians present. New Israeli apartheid legislation

(aic) The Israeli Knesset has adopted a new law which recognizes Muslim and Christian Arab communities as separate identities, giving them their own representation on an employment commission.

The law, which was passed on Monday Feb. 23, was sponsored by Yariv Levin (Likud-Beyteinu) and expands the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from five to 10 members, giving separate seats to representatives of Christian and Muslim Arab workers' groups.

According to Levin, the law’s ultimate objective is to distinguish between Muslim and Christian Arab citizens of Israel and to heighten the involvement of Christians in Israeli society. …

(IMEU) In the approximately seven months since negotiations restarted between Palestinians and Israelis in late July 2013, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has approved plans for 11,700 new settlement units to be built on occupied Palestinian land in violation of international law. As each unit represents one house or apartment, most if not all of which will likely be home to more than one person, this means once these plans have been realized the settler population will increase by well over 20,000 people.

Additionally, Israeli authorities have moved ahead with several other construction projects intended to confiscate Palestinian land, restrict the growth of Palestinian population centers, and cement Israeli control over parts of the occupied territories, including through the creation of dubious “national parks” and archeological digs on occupied Palestinian land. …

Mit diesem Auftritt in der Spätausgabe der öffentlich-rechtlichen Nachrichtensendung tagesthemen, macht die Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions'-Kampagne in Deutschland einen gewaltigen Schritt nach vorn.

Wurden die Aktivisten bislang entweder ignoriert oder pauschal als Antisemiten stigmatisiert, zeichnet der tagesthemen-Bericht ein vergleichsweise neutrales Bild, das ohne Diffamierungen auskommt, und sogar seinen bekannten Berliner Aktivisten, Martin Forberg, zu Wort kommen lässt.

Damit ist ein erster wichtigen Meilenstein erreicht worden, dem hoffentlich bald weitere folgen werden, um der israelischen Gewaltherrschaft über die Palästinenser in Gaza und der Westbank ein Ende zu bereiten.

Free Yousef Abu Maria!

Israeli occupation forces stormed today at dawn the house of Yousef Abu Maria (South West Bank Popular Resistance Committee's member, who is also the coordinator of Beit Ommar Popular Movement), terrorized his children and wife, tampered the house contents and arrested him. Yousef Abu Maria was arrested 19 times before and spent about 5 years in Israeli occupation prisons in total. Yousef has 4 children aged 6months - 13 years who are left behind with no income, since Yousef is the only source of income for his family.

20 years since the Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre in Hebron

(972mag) Twenty years ago, on February 25, 1994, Israeli-American Jewish settler Baruch Goldstein massacred 29 people in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the Muslim holy site at the Cave of the Patriarchs. Goldstein’s attack with an automatic assault rifle left 125 wounded.

In the wake of the massacre, its victims, the Palestinian residents of Hebron, were the ones to suffer. Once one of the city’s major thoroughfares and commercial centers, Shuhada Street was closed to Palestinian vehicle and foot traffic as part of the Israeli army’s attempt to create “sterile” buffer zones between Jewish settlers and Palestinian residents in the city.

Jordan Valley Solidarity: Demolitions in Khirbet Yarza

(JVS) Today, the Israeli military went to Khirbet Yarza, in the North of Jordan Valley, to destroy houses and animals tents. They arrived at 6am with 12 jeeps, 2 bulldozers and 100 soldiers and declared a closure

The army destroyed three houses and two tents which the animals lived in. They also confiscated one tractor and took it to the army base close to Hammamat al Malleh. They have confiscated 6 tents which families were living in. Until now, the affected families do not have any kind of support. They have stayed in the same place where the demolitions occurred without any help

The names of the families are: Faiz Hamid Sami Khaled, Mahmoud Daraghmeh, Naeem Hafiz Mesaieed, Methqal Faiz Hamid.

Obgleich Schulz in seiner Rede keine einzige der vielen Lebenslügen der 'deutsch-europäisch-iraelischen Freundschaft' ausliess, und den letzten Kolonial- und Apartheidstaat im Nahen Osten als "starke Demokratie, eine pulsierende, offene Gesellschaft" bezeichnete, genügte allein die Erwähnung der Rechte der Palästinenser und des Völkerrechts, um den politischen Arm der Siedler-Kriminellen auf den Parlamentsrängen in Rage zu versetzen und so einen Eklat zu erzeugen, dem sich auch Regierungschef Netanjahu anschloss.

Crowd-Funding: 'Abu Youssef - Heimat ist Heimat'

Abu Youssef ist die Geschichte des früheren deutschen Gastarbeiters und jetzigen palästinensischen Olivenbauers. Abu Youssef hatte in den 60er Jahren seine Heimat Palästina verlassen, um sich in Deutschland ein neues Leben aufzubauen. Nach über dreißig Jahren kehrte er, in sein Heimatland zurück, wo er als Olivenbauer lebt. Trotz seiner achtzig Jahre strahlt er große Lebensfreude bei der körperlich schweren Arbeit aus. Auch Rückschläge, seien sie familiär oder politisch durch die schwierige Lage inmitten des Nahost-Konflikts, können Abu Youssef so schnell nicht unterkriegen. …

The biggest Danish Bank, Danske Bank, divested its money from Bank Hapoalim; additionally, PGGM, the second largest Dutch pension fund, divested from theIsraeli banking system, and the Norwegian government ordered the government's pension fund to withdraw its capital from Africa-Israel. …

Die saarländische Niederlassung der Partei-Stiftung der 'GRÜNEN', die Heinrich Böll Stiftung Saar, offeriert für den Mai 2014 eine Bildungsreise nach Israel, deren Programm die Besetzung und Kolonisierung Palästinas verschweigt, die palästinensischen Opfer der israelischen Vertreibungspolitik ausblendet und die Teilnehmer überdies zu Komplizen macht.

Dem Reiseprogramm zufolge werden sich die Teilnehmer wenigstens an drei Orten befinden, die Israel seit 1967 besetzt hält und die das Ziel ethnischer Säuberung waren oder sind. Dazu gehören die syrischen Golanhöhen sowie Ost-Jerusalem und das Jordantal, wo Israel illegale jüdische Kolonien errichtet und die ortsansässigen Palästinenser vertreibt.

Mai 2014: Palästina-Apartheids-Rundreise mit der 'Heinrich Böll Stiftung Saar'

Bisher hat sich die 'Heinrich Böll Stiftung Saar' darauf beschränkt, Israel bei der Unterdrückung der Palästinenser ideell zu unterstützen, etwa indem sie autochthonen Palästinenserhassern eine Bühne für ihre rassistische Siedler- und Kolonialpropaganda einräumt - so wie zuvor schon die taz, das informelle Parteiblatt der GRÜNEN.

Im Mai dieses Jahres, plant die Stiftung nun ein neues Geschäftsfeld für Israels Kolonisten zu erschliessen, den Tourismus.

Dazu organisiert die Böll-Stiftung eine veritable 'Apartheids-Rundreise'. "Apartheids-Rundreise", weil zwei Dinge in ihrem Programm nicht vorgesehen sind: Die direkte Begegnung mit der Besatzung und mit der autochthonen Bevölkerung, den Palästinensern.

NCF: The Government’s Plan for the Dispossession of the Bedouin Population

The Government plan, known as the Prawer Begin Plan, (hereafter the Plan) is a plan for the dispossession of the Bedouin population from its lands, the demolition of its historical villages and the forced resettlement of its population in Government sponsored townships. Allegedly this plan is designed to implement the recommendations of Judge Eliezer Goldberg’s committee of 2008 , recommendations that were unsatisfying for the Bedouin community. In fact the Prawer-Begin Plan turns the clock back and its implementation will bring about the demolition of most of the unrecognized villages and the transfer of tens of thousands of their residents to urban centers and townships that even now are considered among the most impoverished and underdeveloped places in Israel.

The futile two-state solution: Palestinians denounce 'financial blackmail'

Palestinian leaders have reacted angrily to what they see as a veiled threat by the European Union over the dispersal of financial aid to the Palestinian Authority (PA) if peace talks with Israel fail to reach a breakthrough.

European officials recently warned the Palestinians that European countries were suffering from "donor fatigue" after spending billions of dollars in aid with limited results in achieving a lasting peace with the Israelis.

"It has been made very clear to the Palestinians that just sitting around and waiting is not an option," said Lars Faaborg-Andersen, EU ambassador to Israel. "We have made it clear to the parties that there will be a price to pay if these negotiations falter." …

Die TAZ hat ihrer Ausgabe vom 20. Dezember 2013 eine Flugschrift über das Hilfsbusiness der NGOs in Palästina^[1] beigelegt.

„Aktion 3. Welt Saar schreibt hierin u.a. über Amnesty International‘s Wasserbericht^[2] aus dem Jahre 2009:

„Dort heißt es: „Der tägliche Frischwasserkonsum der in den besetzten Gebieten lebenden Palästinenser liegt bei rund 70 Litern pro Kopf – und damit deutlich unter der Menge von 100 Litern, die von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) empfohlen wird.“

Demgegenüber verbrauche ein Israeli täglich im Schnitt über 300 Liter Wasser, also mehr als das Vierfache. ... Offen bleibt dabei, woher Amnesty überhaupt die Verbrauchszahlen hat – eine Quelle für sie wird im Bericht nämlich nicht genannt.„

Normalisierungspropaganda "Goldrausch statt Intifada - Aufbruch in Palästina" (WDR Weltweit)

Am 21. Januar hat der WDR mit der Sendung Goldrausch statt Intifada - Aufbruch in Palästina eine Aneinderreihung neoliberaler Klischees über Palästina vorgeführt, die rein gar nichts mit der Realität in den besetzten Gebieten zu tun haben, sieht man von einer dünnen Schicht von Profiteuren des allein auf Verschuldung und Auslandshilfen beruhenden 'Aufschwungs' in Palästina ab.

Die bedeutenste "Leistung" der beiden Autoren, Michaela Heine und Ghislain Barallon, besteht darin einen halbstündigen Film über Palästina zu drehen, der gänzlich ohne die Nennung der ruinösen, alles erstickenden Besatzung auskommt.

Israel to destroy another Haifa neighborhood, evict Palestinian residents

An Israeli municipality plans to demolish al-Mahatta, a historic Palestinian neighborhood in Haifa. It will be replaced by the expansion of an existing railway, new housing units, nightclubs and restaurants, among other venues designed to bring in increased tourist revenues.

“Since I was five years old, I’ve been hearing that al-Mahatta is going to be completely destroyed … but today, I can’t imagine that we have more than two or three years left in our homes,” George Eskandar, chairman of al-Mahatta’s neighborhood committee, told The Electronic Intifada.

Around 160 people from more than 30 families are facing eviction. All of them carry Israeli citizenship. …

Es ist mühsam einer Minderheit anzugehören, die 20% eines Staates ausmacht, dessen Mehrheitsbevölkerung die Existenz dieser Minorität nicht akzeptiert. Kompliziert wird es, wenn diese Minderheit das indigene Volk der Region ist, in der dieser Staat gegründet wurde und jener diese Tatsache leugnet. Und skurril wird es dann, wenn 82 % dieser Minderheit das Leben in diesem Staat dem in einem anderen Staat vorziehen. Das ist die arabische Minderheit in Israel, der ich angehöre.

Ultimately the State of Israel cannot continue on while unnaturally absorbing four million Palestinians. If we won't let them – it will be the end of a democratic Israel, and I won't allow that to happen."

African asylum seekers strike to demand rights, hold unprecedented rally in Tel Aviv

(972-mag) Over 20,000 asylum seekers, mostly from Eritrea, assembled in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square Sunday morning to demand recognition as refugees. Across Israel, asylum seekers went on a three-day strike, and more protests were planned.

In recent weeks, the government stepped up the arrest and imprisonment of African asylum seekers who entered the state without permits. Several months ago, Israel’s High Court of Justice struck down a law authorizing the state to lock up for three years any person who entered the country illegally, and in some cases, indefinitely.
But last month the Knesset passed a new law, authorizing the state to hold asylum seekers in “closed” prisons for a year. A new “open” holding facility named “Holot” began operating in the desert, where asylum seekers can be held indefinitely until their eventual deportation. …

Palestinian Jerusalemites under attack in 2013

In its annual report, Wadi Al-Hilwa and Silwan Information Centre have said that the Israeli occupation arrested 1,450 residents from Jerusalem in 2013, including 450 children and 25 women. They have displaced 446, destroyed 95 shops and issued destruction warrants to the owners of hundreds of houses.

Last year, the Information Centre said they had witnessed a sharp increase in the targeting of Palestinian residents in Jerusalem, including arbitrary arrests of women, children and elderly people. …

Annexation and the return of the one-state solution

It was yet another slap in the face of the United States, Israel's main patron without whom its existence, never mind its ability to maintain an ever intensifying occupation without fear of mentionable consequence, would be very much in question.

In direct response to US Secretary of State John Kerry's attempt to establish a set of "security arrangements" that would, some day (Kerry apparently is suggesting after another decade), allow some level of Palestinian control over the security of the West Bank (wasn't that supposed to happen during Oslo? And isn't it in fact already the de jure arrangement in Areas A and B?), the Ministerial Legislative Committee voted to annex the Jordan Valley permanently to Israel. …

Many thanks for your kind letters and this gives my family hope. It is supposed to stay the Christmas holidays with my family, but I have to keep running day and night to protect my land. Yesterday, I met group of lawyers who gave me advices what to do. Today, I will continue to prepare the land documents and submit them to the local authorities and go with the legal battle against settlers.
